Roof leaks during wind-driven rain

A leak that appears only in particular weather still needs investigation. Keep the timing, location and roof history together. For Isle of Wight homes.

Some roof leaks remain absent through ordinary rainfall and reappear when wind and rain arrive together. That pattern is useful evidence, but it does not identify a single cause. The covering, junctions and surrounding details still need to be assessed.

A dry day after the event can make the problem feel resolved. Keeping a record while the symptom is visible helps a later enquiry remain accurate even when water is no longer entering.

Describe the event precisely

Note the date, affected room and position of the water. If the wind direction or intensity is known, include it as background without turning it into a technical conclusion. Preserve photographs taken safely indoors or from ground level.

Tell WWR Roofing whether the same location has leaked before and what work followed. A repair that changed the symptom is useful history even where it did not prevent every recurrence.

Keep possible entry points open

Water can appear at an internal location that does not directly reveal the entry point. A useful assessment considers the relevant construction rather than treating the nearest visible tile as an automatic answer.

Where no clear defect is identified immediately, establish what further observation or investigation would help. Repeated application of sealant without an explained finding can make the repair history harder to understand.

Record the result after work

Keep the repair description and note what happens during later comparable weather. The absence of a leak during light rain is useful, but it is not the same observation as performance during the conditions that previously caused the problem.

Our roof repairs service covers these enquiries. The roof leak investigation article explains how a clear record supports a diagnosis and a defined repair scope.
